Leaving Behind a Charitable Gift  

The topic of passing from this world is a difficult one, both for ourselves and for our loved ones. Although it may be uncomfortable to think, or to talk about, it’s important for our peace of mind to know that our wishes in life will be carried out once we take that final journey to the afterlife. 

It is important to leave behind a will, even if you depart with a modest estate.  

Without a will it is up to the courts to appoint an administrator, and to decide how your property should be distributed.  

This often leaves your family and heirs with burdensome legal costs, and a lengthy legal process to confront.  

Drafting a will eases that burden. 

Drafting a will also allows you to leave gifts behind to people or entities outside of your immediate family. At Faith on Fire Missions we are frequently asked by our wonderful patrons how they might leave behind a gift to support our work. Such gifts help to ensure that our important mission work continues and helps add to your own legacy of faith and worship. 

To that end we have put together some sample language that you may take to your personal attorney, if you wish to continue supporting our work from Heaven above. While these example clauses are helpful, they are no substitute for good legal counsel. We encourage you to reach out to an attorney focused on wills and estates to guide you through these matters.  

If you already have a will, it is important that you keep it updated. The contents of your estate may have changed, or perhaps a new grandchild has come into your life. Such new events often require modifications to your existing will to ensure that the text still reflects your final wishes. It is a simple matter for the attorney who drafted your will to add a codicil and update the will with new gifts or family members. 

If you would like to leave behind a specific monetary amount, or percent, of your estate to Faith on Fire Missions to be used for its general purposes, you can use the language below: 

___% or $_______ to international Liturgy Publications, d/b/a Faith on Fire Missions, 5137 Murfreesboro Rd. College Grove, TN 37046, to be used for its general purposes. 

Alternatively, you can leave behind a gift to be used for a specific purpose (such as funding a mission to a particular parish, or for our mission work generally). Just change the wording in brackets to reflect what you would like to have happen with the gift: 

___% or $_______ to  International Liturgy Publications, d/b/a Faith on Fire Missions, 5137 Murfreesboro Rd. College Grove, TN 37046, to be used [to support the organization’s music ministry and missions]. 

We cherish everyone who helps support our mission, and while it is often painful to say goodbye, we know those we care for are bound for a better place.
